Age of Mr. Spacely

[edit]

Mr. Spacely's age is listed as being in his 60's (with a citation needed request). However, George Jetson is listed as 38, and apparently it is revealed in "A Jetsons Christmas Carol" that Mr. Spacely knew George when they were both youths. These two things cannot both be true. I suggest that Mr. Spacely's age is listed wrong. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.179.0.21 (talk) 19:58, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Jane Jetson

[edit]

Jane was only 16 when having Judy?--Sweetheart2009 (talk) 00:33, 7 July 2009 (UTC)sweetheart2009[reply]

I'm not aware of either George's or Jane age being specificly stated in any of the cartoons. Jon (talk) 19:17, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In the article on George Jetson, it indicates that Jane is 35 when Judy is 16, thereby (if the information is correct), making her 19 at the birth of Judy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.126.231.179 (talk) 00:51, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm added cite needed note on the ages in both this article and the George Jetson article. Jon (talk) 17:14, 8 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you watch the opening mins (2:20) of the episode here ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9VyvnzhP2uM ), Jane states she is 32 years old and states "If I was only 15 again." (2:39) in ref to Judy. She states her bust, hips and waist as 32, 22, 32 at 2:44. -- Brent Millis —Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.175.50.35 (talk) 06:08, 19 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Time Period

[edit]

In the introduction section, it says the Jetsons is set in the year 1999, but then in the "Time Period" section, it contradicts this with the year 2062. Both of these years have sources, although since I don't have the CD I can't verify the liner notes. Anyone know which year is actually accurate? Bwald (talk) 04:33, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The 'source' for the 1999 date give 2062 as the year, and doesn't mention 1999 at all. Changed the year to match source. 72.147.75.147 (talk) 07:30, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal for Jetsons

[edit]

I believe Mr. Spacely,Rosie the Robot Maid, Astro (The Jetsons), Judy Jetson and George Jetson should be merged into this article. There is little third person info to assert notability. Dwanyewest (talk) 02:21, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think it might work better if there was at least a second article for Jetsons Characters
-TinGrin 04:57, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Support. The article "The Jetsons" needs to be well developed. Its hardly ever a good idea to separate tv characters from their original tv programs.

Rosie and Astro

[edit]

The stuff about them never being in a given episode together is (1) original research and (2) unimportant - unless you can find a citation for it. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots20:11, 6 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Elroy's age

[edit]

The age given for Elroy is incosistent between the main page (7 and a half) and the list of Jetsons characters page (6 and a half). Neither is cited. 72.240.100.102 (talk) 08:01, 23 November 2011 (UTC)Mike[reply]

Cleanup

[edit]
  • I just did some major cleanup on the article, but more work still needs to be done. Aside from the fact that the character bios read like a PR piece from Hanna-Barbera studios, I had to delete a few things. I don't recall George's age ever being given; and although Elroy's age is given as 6-1/2 in the pilot episode, it was given as 8 in "Jane's Driving Lesson". Also, Cogswell's name was listed as Spencer Cogswell, which he did say in "Crime Games", but in "One Strike, You're Out", he was listed as W.C. Cogswell (and the intro to the article said H.G. Cogswell for some reason). Maybe I watch the show too much, lol Erpert Who is this guy? | Wanna talk about it? 08:58, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Zombies?

[edit]

Zombies? I have not come across that anywhere except memegenerators and I'm removing. Citation needed is definitely not enough. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 120.61.139.102 (talk) 10:29, 30 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Writers?

I may have missed it, but I found no reference to the writers of the Jetsons. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mooseye (talkcontribs) 16:39, 24 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Racism?

[edit]

This cartoon has only white people on it and this lead to number of contreversies and jokes (like the world in the future is "fixed" or they don't need mexicans because they have a robot to do the house work) Should we add it? 3210king (talk) 15:03, 7 November 2013 (UTC)3210king[reply]

Incorrect information

[edit]

The article claims that the treadmill was predicted by this show before it existed. As Wikipedia's own article about the treadmill shows, that is factually untrue, as treadmills for power and for exercise existed many years before the show.Jtcarpet (talk) 15:03, 19 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

60s self reference

[edit]

Under "Differences between versions" it mentions states "The original 1960s episodes are distinguished by 1960s design motifs, music, and references". What does that mean? It was hip? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.47.26.168 (talk) 02:31, 28 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Aliens only in the 1980s version?

[edit]

The 1980s version has an alien pet. Are there aliens in the 1960s version? Surely if not, that's the biggest difference of all between the two versions. Adpete (talk) 05:04, 22 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

characters list

[edit]

It seems to me like all of the character list items except for the ones i have added make references only to the 60's episodes. For example, it lists only Dick Beals as the voice of Arthur Spacely, when in the episode "The Odd Pod" (season3 episode 8) Catherine Thompson (who also voices Marcia) voiced Arthur Spacely. Dick Beals wasn't even in that episode even though Arthur Spacely does. Thompson only does voices in the 80's version. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.101.62.55 (talk) 11:41, 26 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

For those wondering, in the episode "The Odd Pod" Dick Beals was supposed to reprise his roll of Arthur Spacely, though he was not able to make it to the recording session, so Catherine Thompson was a last-minute replacement for his voice, given that she could do a voice much like his. I found this when I was looking through Catherine Thompson's papers. Sadley, Catherine Thompson died a few days ago of mesothelioma and I won't be able to find more rolls for her. we are putting together an IMDB page that we hope will be up this summer, it'll be a list of all rolls she did in various shows from the 1980's to the 2010's. Thompson was 73 when she died a few days ago. 199.101.62.55 (talk) 02:11, 8 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello According to my girlfriend's reading for the credits for several season2 and 3 episode sthat feature the character of Marcia, it is Catherine Thompson that voices her. How do we cite credits? 199.101.62.225 (talk) 05:10, 13 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Howard Morris never voiced Henry Orbit. This should be removed from the cast of Characters section. Daws Butler was always the voice the voice of Henry Orbit. I was Daws Butler's protégé, knew him personally and sat in on Jetsons recording sessions, and wrote his official biography Daws Butler, Characters Actor. 2601:4C1:180:90:5CB7:D81A:2FB3:80C9 (talk) 21:00, 21 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
